In order to extend the life of laser printers, ensure print quality and reduce malfunctions, the maintenance of laser printers is very important. In general, the printer should be thoroughly cleaned when replacing the toner cartridge, or when printing approximately 6,000 sheets, or when there is a problem with the print quality. Turn off the printer while cleaning and remove the toner.

Only the lint-free cloth or brush should be used inside the printer. Try not to use detergent.

(1) Clean paper feeding guide

Clean the transfer guide area with a clean, lint-free cloth and clean the transfer guide area to remove dust, shredded paper or residual toner from the area.

(2) Cleaning antistatic teeth

At the end of the paper feed guide, there is a set of metal teeth that act to discharge the output paper, called antistatic teeth. If the antistatic tooth is covered with dust and shredded paper, it will cause insufficient discharge of the paper, and the charged paper will block the paper exit path. When cleaning, use a soft brush to periodically remove dust, debris and other debris from the antistatic teeth.

(3) Cleaning the paper guide area

Use a clean, lint-free cloth dampened with demineralized water to remove dust and residual toner from the paper exit area.

Be careful when cleaning. The internal components of the laser printer are very precise. Excessive force can cause damage to the machine. Also, when cleaning, do not wipe the dirt into the key parts of the printer.

After the printer is cleaned, reinstall the toner cartridge, turn on the power to perform a print self-test, and check for other faults.

Second, print the self-test page

The self-test page is printed to check if the printer is faulty, and you can also check if the typeface loaded in the laser printer meets the requirements. At the time of self-test, turn on the power, wait until only the Ready light on the control panel is on, and after the other status indicators are off, press and hold the control button. After about 6 seconds, the Data light will be on, the Ready light will flash, and the self-test page will start to print.
