(1) Commercial printer

Due to the large number of commercial system departments and the complex industry, the structure and performance of printers suitable for various industries are different, and the types of printers are also different.

Commercial paper printers follow the domestic temporary industry standard for pin dot matrix printers, namely the OKI5320SC. This type of printer differs from a conventional pin dot matrix printer in that it has a flat push or oblique push single page automatic feed, which is easy and reliable to operate, and has multiple copying capabilities.

The passbook printer follows the OlivettiPR-50 standard.

(2) CAD and DTP printers

These printers are used in a variety of computer-aided operating systems, such as CAD, CAM, CAT, CAE, and DTP, to display large format, high-quality output images, and many companies are working to develop such printers.

(3) Portable printer

This printer is small, lightweight, portable, and battery-operable, compared to desktop printers, and is suitable for booting at any workplace. The printer can be used in three different printing technologies: pin, thermal transfer and ink jet, each with its own characteristics.

A variety of portable printers are designed to increase market competitiveness, with low cost, light weight, print speed and quality, but in general portable printers have less processing power than desktop printers.

(4) Special printer

A special printer is a print output device configured for a specific device, such as a micro printer, a built-in printer, a thermal printer, a barcode printer, and the like. Among them: micro-printers are widely used for the printing output of intelligent instruments and meter measurement results; built-in printers are used for the printing output of the teller machine of the financial system and the cash register of the commercial system; the thermal printer is used for the fax machine and the medical machine. And printouts of specialized equipment; bar code printers are printouts for commercial systems.

(5) Network printer

Network printers are also called workgroup printers or shared printers. The key to network printers is the implementation of shared printing technology. Shared printing technology is a technology that solves the problem of multiple users sharing one or more printers. With the popularity and development of computer networks, network printers have completely solved the problem of multi-user shared printers in a wider scope.

Network printers are relative to stand-alone printing. The so-called stand-alone printing is that one computer monopolizes one or more printers. In this way, if the computer user does not perform the printout operation, the occupied printer will be idled, resulting in waste of resources; and when the occupied printer cannot meet the user's requirements for print quality, the user will not be able to obtain satisfactory print output. As a result, due to economic and other conditions, it is impossible and unnecessary for the user to configure various types of printers.
